Support Youth

The wonder of camping out under a starry night sky. The confidence that comes with taking a brave leap off a diving board. The sense of belonging that’s instilled by a hike designed to honor and support diverse abilities. It’s moments like these that bring meaning to our mission and inspire us to connect youth with life-changing experiences in nature.

Your gift changes lives—from scholarships for overnight outdoor science camp to school field trips and after-school programs to tangible safety items including life preservers, bike bells and helmets, you can ensure access for all in our parks.

Below are a few of the unique youth programs we offer through the Youth Development Program:

  • Swim Lessons & Lifeguard Programming, where kids ages 9 to 15 are able to learn water safety and rescue skills, first aid and CPR in a fun and welcoming environment.
  • Camp Arroyo, where thousands of youth connect with nature through immersive overnight outdoor science school and team building programs.
  • Kids Healthy Outdoor Challenge, which promotes outdoor science education while also supporting third grade curriculum content standards in Alameda and Contra Costa County school districts. Teachers receive an online orientation and in-person -training to lead activities on their own.

  • Join us in celebrating the East Bay Regional Park District’s 90 years of milestones and history of environmental conservation and positive experiences in nature!

  • I notice how the hill has many dragonflies on it and how the crisp sunlight melts over the bugs, blending them in with cool shadows while the soft flowers come out from the damp forest floor. -Isla, Camper at Redwood Reinhardt Regional Park

  • East Bay Regional Parks are one of the best things about the Bay, I want everyone to be able to experience them. - Matt C., Member & Donor

  • This was the first field trip my students ever went on. The self-esteem, the joy and the fulfillment of being part of this special event supported growth and community life skills for each of my students! – Teacher at Turner Elementary in Antioch, Disability Fishing Derby Participant
