EmperorSupport the Animal Rescue Emergency Response

Some of you may have heard about the recent accident at Briones Regional Park in which a horse lost its life. The Regional Parks Foundation is now accepting community contributions to help purchase large animal technical rescue equipment and training for our staff and first responders.

The recent accident and death of our park equestrian’s horse “Emperor” at Briones Regional Park was a tragic circumstance that had tremendous impact within the equestrian community as well as with Park District staff and Fire Department first responders. While we mourn the loss of the horse, we are all grateful that the equestrian was not seriously injured during this incident.

The Regional Parks Foundation has committed to raise the funds to procure large animal rescue equipment and annual staff training for the Regional Parks staff and first responders.

The Foundation will be looking to raise $50,000 which will fund the technical large animal rescue equipment, a lifesize horse mannequin, initial and annual training for our first responders.

The East Bay regional Park District Fire Department welcomes your participation and communication in this fundraising opportunity.

Thank you again for your support and the kindness you have shared.
