Botanic Garden Class Instructors

DAVID AMME is the Wildland Vegetation Program Manager for the East Bay Regional Park District. He is a founding member of the California Native Grasslands Association (CNGA) and has been involved in California grassland ecology as a private resource management consultant, state park resource ecologist, and environmental planner.

HEATH BARTOSH is acting chair of the Rare Plant Committee of East Bay CNPS and serves on the State CNPS Rare Plant Program Committee. He is a Principal and Senior Botanist at Nomad Ecology.

DANIEL GLUESENKAMP is Executive Director of the Calflora Database. Prior to joining Calflora, Dan worked for Audubon Canyon Ranch, leading habitat protection and restoration work across 30 properties. He is a founder and past president of the California Invasive Plant Council and co-founder of the Bay Area Early Detection Network (BAEDN). 

SAXON HOLT has been a professional garden photographer for more than 25 years. His three most recent books have all won the outstanding book award from the Garden Writers Association. He is the Photography Program Director at San Francisco Botanical Garden.

GLENN KEATOR is a popular freelance instructor of botany in the Bay Area. He currently teaches, leads field trips, and provides docent instruction in botany for the Regional Parks Botanic Garden. He is the author of a number of books on native plants.

ANDIE THRAMS is a California-based visual artist working in painting and the book arts. Her lifelong devotion to creative work in wilderness locations has evolved into artist's books and paintings that are widely exhibited, collected, and honored. She teaches regularly throughout the west.
