  • How do I sign up for Trails Challenge?
    A: It's simple! Click Sign Me Up to register for the 2009 Trails Challenge. If you are a Kaiser employee, please sign up with by clicking Kaiser Employees Only. Please note, if you are a Kaiser employee proof of employment and residence in one of the nine bay area counties must be provided when you pick up your free t-shirt(s).
  • I’ve signed up, now what?
    A: Once your registration is complete, print out your confirmation page and bring this as proof of purchase to pick up your free t-shirt(s). Read through the Important Tips, Trail Maps and print out your Trail Log. We highly encourage you to find a trail that begins at your Visitor Center when you pick up your t-shirt.
  • If I don’t live in Alameda or Contra Costa Counties and am not a Kaiser employee, can I still participate in the Trails Challenge?
    A: The Trails Challenge itself is a free program to Alameda and Contra Costa County residents, or Kaiser Employees from the 9 Bay Area counties listed on the registration page. If you live outside of Alameda or Contra Costa County, you may sign up as a non-resident.
  • Why do I have to choose the Visitor Center that I want to pick up my t-shirt at in advance?
    A: Free t-shirts will only be available at your selected Visitor Center from April 25 to May 31, 2009. Each Visitor Center will have a pre-printed list of those participants registered with their Visitor Center. Your t-shirt will only be available at that Visitor Center.
  • May I purchase additional t-shirts or a printed guidebook?
    A: You may purchase additional t-shirts online for a fee of $10 per t-shirt. A printed guidebook is also available if you choose not to download the information from this website. You may order your guidebook for a fee of $5.00 online. Click on Additional Purchases to order these today.
  • How do I find the Trail descriptions and Trail Maps?
    A: Once you are registered, go to the Trail Maps page.
  • How do I log my trails and miles?
    A: Once you are registered, go to the Trail Log page.
  • May I send the park District photos of my hikes during the Trails Challenge?
    A: We encourage the public to add photos to the East Bay Regional Park District's Filckr page.
  • How do I become a member of the Regional Parks?
    A: Simply click on  Membership . Read about the various types of memberships and purchase your new or renewal membership online. For additional assistance you can also send an email to our Membership Department.
  • Does the Park District keep all of my information confidential?
    A: Yes, both the East Bay Regional Parks District and the Regional Parks Foundation keep all personal information entered during registration  secure. Click privacy to review our policy statement.
  • Who can I contact with additional questions regardting the Trails Challenge?
    A: If you have additional questions about the program, please call 1-888-EBPARKS during the hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm, or email trailschallenge@ebparks.org.
