1. If I renew early, will I only get 11 months of Membership benefits with my renewed Membership?
No. When you renew early, your current Membership is extended out a full 12 months. For example, if your Membership expires on December 31, 2011, and you call to renew on November 7, 2011, your new Membership expiration would be on December 31, 2012, giving you the full twelve months that you have paid for.

2. What does "day-use parking" mean?
A day-use parking fee is the fee charged to park your vehicle in a Regional Park parking lot for one business day; you must remove your vehicle from the lot the same day you paid your day-use parking fee. You cannot use your day-use parking placard at any of the overnight camping parking areas.

3. If I have 4 people in my car, do I have to pay for all 4 people when I go to a park? Or, is there only one parking fee as I am only parking one car?
There are different types of fees associated with "using" the Regional Parks. The East Bay Regional Park District does not charge entrance fees at its parks, with the one exception of Ardenwood Historic Farm. The "day-use" parking fees that are charged at some of our parks are charged per car, not per person in the car. So, if you have 4 people in your car, you would not pay per person, you would pay per car, and as long as you have your Membership Card, parking placard, and picture ID present, the "day-use" parking fee would be covered for that one car.

At Ardenwood Historic Farm, there is no parking fee, but there is an entrance fee, so in this case you would have to pay per person. Your Membership waives the entrance fee for you (as a Member) at Ardenwood only on NON-event days. We also have entrance fees to some of our swimming facilities. These fees are charged per person. Your Membership benefits cover the swim fees for you during the swim season. If you have a Family Membership, the second named individual and up to four children (ages 1-17)  living in your household will also receive the Membership benefits of free swimming during the swim season and free admission to Ardenwood Historic Farm on NON-event days.

Black Diamond Mines Underground Tours are a new benefit of Membership beginning in 2014. For Individual Membership levels, you will receive one (1) Hazel Atlas Mine Tour ticket good for an advanced-reservation weekend tour in July, August, or September. Family Membership levels are eligible to receive up to four (4) tickets per Membership, again for an advanced-reservation weekend tour in July, August, or September. (Must be at least 7 years of age to tour the mine.)

4. If I buy an additional Dog Pass, does that mean that I can only bring one dog into the park?
No. The standard benefits of all Membership packages include one Dog Pass. If you purchase one additional Dog Pass, you will be allowed to bring two dogs into the Regional Park. If you have three dogs you would like to bring into the park, you would purchase a Membership and two Additional Dog Passes.

5. What do I do if I have 4 dogs? Can I just buy 3 additional Dog Passes?
You will first need to purchase a Dog Walker Permit through Public Safety before you will be able to purchase the 3 Dog Pass Add-ons to your Membership. The East Bay Regional Park District has set up a dog permit program for commercial dog walkers and for people who walk more than three dogs at a time in the Regional Parks. Please click HERE to obtain fee information for the Dog Walker Permit.

6. Can I use my Membership to the Regional Parks for other park agencies? In other words, are there reciprocal benefits?
No. We do not have a reciprical program set up with any other park agency.

7. If I make camping reservations, will my Membership Cards cover the second car going into the campsite?
No. Your Membership covers "day-use parking," which is different from the overnight parking fee for camping. Your camping reservation will cover the fee for one overnight car, but there is an additional fee for the second car.

8. How do I take advantage of the camping discount that I get along with my Membership? Are there any specific rules that I need to be aware of?
Call the East Bay Regional Park District's Reservations Department at (888) 327-2757, option 2, and tell them you are a Member while making your camping reservation. Discounts can be applied with no advance reservation if space is available, and can be applied to multiple camping reservations separated by at least two days. Please note: discounts can only apply to reservations made by telephone.

9. Can I use Membership benefits at the Lafayette Reservoir, Mount Diablo, or San Pablo Dam?
No. These places are not part of the East Bay Regional Park District. You can use your Membership benefits only at parks in the East Bay Regional Park District.
